Scott Olson, Managing Director

Scott Olson has more than 20 years of diverse legal and business experience.  Most notably, Scott founded the Dallas office of Greenberg Traurig, LLP and served as Global Co-head of Greenberg’s Structured Finance & Derivatives Group, helping build Greenberg’s global practice. Scott represented large banks, insurance companies, and other small and large businesses primarily focused on lending, finance, and securitization.

 

After his legal career, Scott co-founded an asset-based hedge fund that managed over $1 billion in investments.  Since selling his hedge fund interest in 2010, Scott has taken on the role of operator, advisor, and/or investor in a variety of business opportunities. Scott attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Vanderbilt Law School and also served our country in the USAF.  Scott serves on many business and ministry boards, including Children’s Hunger Fund, Esperanza, and MasterCares/Gracebridge. Scott has been married to his wife, Erin, since 2000, and they have three children.

Pat Combs, Managing Director

Pat began his wealth management career at Morgan Stanley in 2005 where he quickly ascended to the top five percent of advisors in his first three years of business and was named as a 2015 Five Star Wealth Manager award winner in the DFW area. His team of advisors managed over $1 billion in assets. Pat also served three years as the Director of the Dallas office for Archetype Wealth Partners. He and his son, Conner, launched Combs Capital Partners wealth advisory in 2020, where he serves as Chairman.

Prior to his wealth management career, Pat spent 8 years playing professional baseball with the Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers. Pat was drafted in the first round of the 1988 MLB draft and represented Team USA on the 1988 Olympic Team. He lives in Southlake TX with his wife Christina and three sons. Pat is also involved in the CEO Forum and serves on multiple ministry boards.

Lowai Kattan, Fund Manager

Mr. Kattan is a resident of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he and his family have held many civilian leadership and advisory positions.  Mr. Kattan has worked extensively as an advisor, investor, and owner in many industries across the MENA region, including real estate, environmental remediation, entertainment, security, and agriculture.  Mr. Kattan has also held the position of senior advisor with a number of prominent MENA family offices.  Finally, Mr. Kattan has been an active digital asset investor on his behalf, and on behalf of other SHNW investors, since 2019.

Mr. Kattan attended high school in McLean, VA and college at American University in Washington, DC and Middlesex University in Cairo, Egypt.

James Traweek

James is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Five Talents, LP, the family office he

launched in the fourth quarter of 2017. From October 1995 until January of 2020, James held various positions at CPMG [and its predecessor entities], a hedge fund specializing in short selling with a related focus on private equity.  Over that quarter century at CPMG, the firm managed money for various institutional clients, including Yale, Stanford, Duke, MIT, and Penn.  During James’ time at CPMG, its AUM grew from under $50 million to over $1.9 billion.
 

John DeLine

Jon is a mission driven business executive who is focused on researching, investing, and mining cryptocurrency and digital assets since 2014. He was most recently CEO of BETA Fueling Systems, where he sold his interest in 2019 to concentrate on advising other CEO’s, owners, and board directors in growth and diversification through outside investment, M&A, and executing high growth opportunities as the founder of Scout Advisors. Jon and his wife, Debbie, reside in Oak Ridge, North Carolina with their three kids.

Russell Hill

Russell is a Texas native, now located in Los Angeles where he owns and operates a number of businesses focused on industrial design and manufacturing. He began investing in blockchain related assets in 2018 – in 2021 he founded Diversion Digital, a digital asset fund, and actively manages its investment holdings.

Dean Niewolny

Dean spent 23 years in executive roles with three of Wall Street’s largest financial firms, finishing his career with Wells Fargo Advisors in Chicago, where he oversaw a $100mm market.  Dean later became CEO of Halftime, where for more than a decade he has provided leadership and wisdom to business leaders all over the world.  Dean is also an accomplished author and speaker.

Chris Fay

Chris has spent 34 years collaborating with privately held business owners and their families helping them with business continuity challenges. This typically includes a focus in four distinct areas of wealth to include business, financial, personal and legacy. Helping families through the complexity associated with each distinct area of wealth results in better family outcomes relative to their overall goals and objectives. In 2013, Chris and his wife, Carla, began investing and the continued research in the cryptocurrency space.
